Studio Art Program

Greenlawn's carefully designed studio art program begins in the seventh and eighth grades and picks up again in the junior and senior years.

Students gain confidence in basic drawing skills in the seventh grade and progress to working in watercolors in the eighth grade. In their final project, they also study an American artist and reproduce one of that artist’s works.

The junior and senior years continue to focus on watercolor and the study of art history from prehistoric to modern times. Student work from each grade is on display in the school’s Fine Arts Festival in May.

Extracurricular Fine Arts

Art Club is for any student who has an interest in art. Students in all grades may participate, working in their own choice of medium. An art faculty member is present to help them improve their techniques.
