Uniform Information and Guidelines 2009-10

The goal for having a uniform is to have students dress neatly and consistently. We rely on parental support to attain these goals. Please assist us by seeing that your child is in uniform, well-groomed, neat, not rumpled, no holes in the elbows and with shirttails tucked in, etc. Uniform regulations apply from the time the student leaves home until he or she arrives back home, unless otherwise excused. This means that students cannot wear other clothes to school and change at school, and they may not change into other clothes after school.

Girls' Uniform

Skirt:

  • Revised Blackwatch plaid kilt, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.
  • The hemline of kilts may be no higher than the top of the knee.

Pants:

  • Flat-front chino pants purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.
  • Navy flat-front stretch chino pants purchased from Lands' End uniform catalog.
  • Navy uniform pants purchased from The Gap (girls' sizes only, JC Penney or American Eagle Outfitters).

Shirt:

  • White, long- or short-sleeve, oxford cloth, button-down shirt.
  • Green or white, long- or short-sleeve polo shirt with monogram, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.

Socks:

  • Short, plain, navy, white or black socks.
  • Navy, black or nude tights or nylons.

Shoes:

  • Girls must wear SOLID brown, navy or black closed-toe, closed back, low-heeled shoes (tie or slip-on)
  • Not canvas.
  • If you are uncertain about a particular shoe style, talk to the dean of girls before you buy school shoes.

Seasonal options for girls:

Beginning of school to fall break and Easter break to the end of school:

  • Blackwatch plaid walking shorts, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.
  • Navy walking shorts, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.

Fall break to Easter break:

  • Plain, white T-shirt, long- or short-sleeve, may be worn under the white polo.
  • Gray, navy, black or white T-shirt, long- or short-sleeve, may be worn under the green polo.
  • Navy hoody zip sweater with monogram, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.
  • Navy long-sleeve full-zip fleece with monogram, purchased through Sports Image Apparel of Indiana.
  • Black zip-up sweatshirt with monogram, purchased through Sports Image Apparel of Indiana.


Boys' Uniform

Pants:

  • Navy blue pants, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.

Shirt:

  • White, long- or short-sleeved, oxford cloth, button-down collar shirt.
  • Green or white, long- or short-sleeved polo shirt with monogram, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.

Undershirts:

  • T-shirts worn under the uniform must be a plain white crew neck, or V-neck.

Shoes:

  • Boys must wear plain, DARK brown or black shoes (tie or slip-on).
  • Boots, athletic shoes and sandals, including Birkenstocks and shoes with visible logos, are not acceptable.
  • If you are uncertain about a particular shoe style, talk to the dean of boys before you buy school shoes.

Socks:

  • Simple navy or black socks (no logo).

Belt:

  • Plain, simple dark brown or black leather belt with plain buckle.

Seasonal options for boys:

Beginning of school to fall break, and Easter break to the end of school:

  • Navy walking shorts, purchased from Dennis Uniform Co.
  • Plain, white crew socks (no logo).

Fall break to Easter break:

  • Navy crew-neck or V-neck pullover sweater with monogram, purchased through Sports Image Apparel of Indiana.
  • Navy pullover sweatshirt with monogram, purchased through Sports Image Apparel of Indiana.
  • Navy long-sleeve full-zip fleece with monogram, purchased through Sports Image Apparel of Indiana.


Used uniforms are available at the school on uniform day in May.
