Trinity Classic Summer Camp: Exploring Ancient Rome
Have a great adventure this summer and travel back in time to the days of Roman gladiators! Try your hand at writing on a wax tablet . . . spar in a modified chariot race . . . learn about Roman gods and goddesses . . .create a working model of Mt. Vesuvius . . . design and personalize your own battle helmet, create replicas of Roman art . . . and much more! Each day will offer rich learning experiences about Roman culture combined with a generous time of outdoor fun.
Instructor: Mrs. Natalie Noble, former TSMV Art Teacher
Ages: Best suited for students in 4th, 5th or 6th grade
Days: Monday - Friday (July 10-14 or July 24-28)
Time: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Basketball Camp for Boys
Improve your basketball skills by fine-tuning the fundamentals of your game while at the same time working on teamwork, sportsmanship and competition. This camp will take place at St. John's Academy in McLean.
Coaches: Rick Schoof, head coach of TSMV varsity boys and Amateur Athletics Union (AAU) coach. Led 8 teams to national tournaments; Iowa State University assistant men's coach. East Carolina University assistant men's coach. Jeff Gaskins, assistant coach TSMV varsity boys; TC Williams high school head j.v. coach 2011-2013. Grades: Boys in 4th through 10th grade
Days: Monday - Friday (June 26-30.)
Time: 4:30 to 8 p.m.
Cost: $175 regular registration, $125 for St. John's students
Lacrosse Camp for Boys
Designed to introduce boys to the exciting and fast-paced game of lacrosse. Come learn the fundamental skills of passing, catching, cradling, dodging, ground ball scooping as well as offensive and defensive concepts. This camp will take place at St. Philip's athletic field in Falls Church.
Coach: Scott Niklason, TSMV varsity lacrosse coach with 40-plus years of coaching experience, founder of the Trinity Tempest lacrosse program. He led the varsity boys to victory in the 2008 state championship and to a first-runner-up finish in 2009. He was named 2008 VISAA Coach of the Year and has been a teacher and dean of boys at Trinity School at Meadow View for nearly 20 years.
Grades: Boys in 4th to 7th grade
Days: Monday through Friday (July 31 to August 4)
Time: 9 a.m. to noon
