Fifty-four River Ridge students received their diplomas at the commencement ceremony held on June, 12. Dr. Michael Jordan, Director of Undergraduate Academic Affairs at the University of St. Thomas delivered the commencement address.
Trinity School at River Ridge’s recipents of 2010 Graduate Awards are Cody Sommers and Beth Sturman. Cody will attend Hillsdale College, where he plans to study mathematics and philosophy. Beth will attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she intends to study mechanical engineering.
Beth Sturman’s Valedictory: On Beauty.
“Experiencing beauty instills in us a deep-seated yearning for God; it sends us searching, searching to know who we are, where we are going, and what our place in the universe is. Ultimately, it sends us searching for salvation.”
Head of School Jon Balsbaugh’s Remarks to the Graduates
“Because this kind of goodness seems so simple, it is often labeled naïve. That’s not true. The simple goodness that overflows from love, that overflows from God, that overflows from Christ in the world, that sees Christ in ten thousand places is not naïve. It does not vanish in the face of experience, but is strengthened.”
