Twenty-six students received diplomas at Greenlawn’s commencement on June 12. Dr. Kevin Ranaghan and Dr. Kerry Koller honored Dr. Paul DeCelles, who has stepped down after 30 years of serving as chair of the Board of Trustees for Trinity Schools. Trinity School at Greenlawn’s recipients of 2010 Graduate Awards are Gabe Griggs, Eddie Linczer, and Margaret Preuss. All will attend the University of Notre Dame this fall. Gabe intends to pursue computer science and the Program of Liberal Studies. Eddie plans to study Mandarin Chinese and International Relations. Margaret intends to study Finance.

Eddie Linczer’s Valedictory: On Twitter and the Unexamined Life.

“God created us in his image and likeness, and we are called to use his gifts, to find our vocations, and to live lives that reflect God’s creativity. Will we be content with Twitter culture, or will we push beyond?”

Board of Trustees Member Dr. Kevin Ranaghan Honors Dr. Paul DeCelles: 30 Years at the Helm.

After 30 years, Dr. Paul DeCelles has stepped down as the chair of the Board of Trustees for Trinity Schools, Inc. Dr. Kevin Ranaghan honors him for his service and vision. “If Paul DeCelles is to be thought of nautically in relation to Trinity, I have to say, without fear of exaggeration, that he has been Trinity’s architect and builder. He has been Trinity’s captain and navigator and at times its helmsman. He has fulfilled all these functions for more than 30 years. The result is that Trinity floats, sails, survives the tempests, and comes safely to port year after year.”

Let’s have a round of applause for Joe Gleason, videographer extraordinaire! I am so blessed to be a Trinity parent. May God continue to bless all aspects of our school!

Many people have vision, without the energy to accomplish. Many have energy, but no vision worth accomplishing. When vision and energy come together in an individual, as they have in my dear neighbor, Dr. Paul DeCelles, God’s plans for an entire community can move forward by leaps. As South Bend residents, my husband and I thank you, Dr. DeCelles for making Trinity possible here.

(By the way, I heard somewhere that behind every great man there is a great woman.)
