Grace (Goetzke) Cunningham '06 graduated from the University of Minnesota medical school on May 6, 2016. She will begin her residency program at Rochester's Mayo Clinic in June.
Brothers Share in Historic Discovery
Brothers Michael Coughlin (class of 2008) and Scott Coughlin (class of 2010) were part of a historic discovery. Both of them wrote gravitational wave research proposals in applications for prestigious overseas scholarships. Alumae Dawn Lavalle earns Ph.D.
Dawn Lavalle '01 earned a Ph.D. from Princeton University and has been chosen as the Fellow by Examination (Junior Research Fellow) for the Humanities at Magdalen College, Oxford. The 3-year appointment provides Fellows noted for outstanding promise in their research with complete freedom to pursue projects of their choice. Dawn will be using the fellowship to complete her book on Methodius of Olympus' Symposium and to start a new project on physiological metaphors in Imperial Greek literature.
Alumnae Michelle Casper Taylor earns Ph.D.
Michelle (Casper) Taylor '02 earned a Ph.D. from Mayo Graduate School successfully defending her thesis The Effect of Hydrodynamic Environment on Periosteal Chondrogenesis.
Alumnus Luke Goetzeke earns Ph.D.
Congratulations to Luke Goetzke ('04). He earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Columbia University, May 2015, after successfully defending his dissertation entitled Low-Energy Electronic Recoils in Liquid Xenon: Search for Annual Modulation with XENON100, Measurement of Charge and Light Yield with neriX, and Measurement of Krypton in Xenon with ATTA.
