“We accomplish our mission by establishing a culture marked by the discovery of truth, the practice of goodness, the creation of beauty, and the development of intellectual and aesthetic habits of mind.”
Trinity School’s Mission Statement
Trinity School was founded on the conviction that education is a search for the truth. The truth manifests itself to our minds, to our aesthetic sensibilities and to the moral imagination.
A complete education consists of acquiring knowledge, cultivating sound habits of mind and developing a love of the beautiful and the good.
For truth, Trinity’s goals are:
- That students develop the ability to discover and understand the truth, wherever it is found.
- That students possess knowledge of God in his revelation, which is found in the study of scripture and theology; in his material creation, which is found in natural science and mathematics; and in his special creation, humanity, as found in literature, philosophy, history, and the arts.
- That students develop a sense of wonder about the world and a desire to learn more about the world.
- That students develop a love for truth.
For beauty, Trinity’s goals are:
- That students develop the ability to produce beautiful things in the visual arts, music and drama.
- That students develop the ability to recognize beauty.
- That students develop a love of beauty.
For goodness, Trinity’s goals are:
- That students desire the good in their own lives and in the world.
- That students become morally and spiritually serious.
- That students develop the ability to recognize the good.
- That students develop the practices that will produce good in their own lives and in the lives of those around them.
