Trinity School’s commitment to the fine arts begins in junior high with learning to draw through observation and learning to paint with an understanding of color. In music, students perform individual and ensemble recorder pieces. They also learn some basics of music composition and compose their own pieces. Finally, students memorize and practice for spring poetry recitations.
In the fine arts and drama programs, a study of theory and technique accompanies training in performance. In high school, two years of art instruction includes drawing, painting, color theory as well as an art history course. Two years of music instruction includes music theory, composition and performance, both individually and in ensembles. Two years of drama study teaches characterization, interpretation of texts and includes performances in two classic dramas.
